
Hospitals, Sponsors, Media Partners, Children’s Hospital Patients and Celebrities Gather to Celebrate Another Year of Miracles
Annual Celebration Event at Walt Disney World Resort Features Celebrities Dr. Oz, John Schneider, Dr. Travis Stork, Ethan Bortnick and Miss America 2010
Children’s Miracle Network, a charity that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals across North America, will be celebrating another year of miracles at its annual Celebration event at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 9-13.
Children’s Miracle Network’s annual Celebration brings together hospitals, corporate sponsors, media partners, children’s hospital patients and celebrities to celebrate achievements, share best practices and honor the children who benefit from the charity’s fundraising efforts.
Some highlights from the week include:
Children’s Miracle Network Champions The Children’s Miracle Network Champions program identifies one young ambassador from every U.S. state and every province in Canada. These 67 children, ranging from 3 to 18 years old, have all been treated at a Children’s Miracle Network hospital for a serious medical affliction. During the week they will have a breakfast with Disney characters, enjoy the Disney World parks, speak to sponsor and media partners, and be honored in a medals ceremony.
Miracles in Media presented by Foresters Thursday, Nov. 11, 7:30 pm This awards event pays tribute to Children’s Miracle Network’s more than 350 media partners and the revolutionary ways they share the message of the important work of children’s hospitals. Actor and co-founder John Schneider will host the event.
General Session and Champions Medal Ceremony Friday, Nov. 12, 3:00 pm Dr. Mehmet Oz—cardiac surgeon, author and TV host of “The Dr. Oz Show”—will be the keynote speaker at the General Session. Following Dr. Oz there will be a medal ceremony for children who were selected for their courage in overcoming medical obstacles and represent every state in the United States and every province in Canada.
Children’s Miracle Awards presented by Delta Air Lines Saturday, Nov. 13, 6:30 pm The Children’s Miracle Awards presented by Delta Air Lines is a formal event that honors outstanding pediatric caregivers at the 170 Children’s Miracle Network children’s hospitals. Dr. Travis Stork from the Emmy Award winning show “The Doctors,” will host the awards. The evening also includes entertainment by 9-year-old piano virtuoso Ethan Bortnick, the Carter twins, country music artist Mark Wills and Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron.
Children’s Miracle Network Classic Thursday, Nov. 11- Sunday, Nov. 14 The Children's Miracle Network Classic is the last stop of the 2010 PGA Tour. The event takes place at Walt Disney World's Magnolia and Palm golf courses. This is the fourth year Children’s Miracle Network will be the title-sponsor of the event, and the 40th year Disney is hosting the Classic.
