Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Continues Tradition with 28th Annual Telethon; Airing June 3-5 in Select Cities

Co-Founders Marie Osmond and John Schneider will be Joined by Jim Furyk, Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and Other Celebrities in “A Celebration of Real Miracles"

SALT LAKE CITY (May 25, 2011) —

The 28th annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® Telethon will be broadcast Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5 in 62 markets across North America to raise funds for children’s hospitals.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Co-Founders Marie Osmond and John Schneider will host the telethon. Other celebrities, including 2010 PGA Tour Player of the Year Jim Furyk, Dr. Oz, LeAnn Rimes, Mary Hart, Dr. Phil McGraw and Debora Norville, will join Osmond and Schneider during the broadcast.

“Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals began in 1983 as a televised fundraiser in a small studio, and has grown into a leading children’s charity helping millions of kids each year,” said Craig Sorensen, chief marketing officer, Children’s Miracle Network. “The Telethon gives us a chance to share the important work of children’s hospitals.”

The Telethon will highlight stories of children from around North America, all who have needed help for different injuries or illnesses. Additionally, each Telethon will feature unique, local programming that tells the stories of children who have been treated at the market’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Like all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraisers, funds raised stay local, meaning all the funds donated to a particular Telethon will be given to the benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in that community.
