
Under Direction of New Manager, Hispanic Radiothon Raises $370,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Sacramento, Calif., raised more than $370,000 for Children’s Miracle Network during their thirdannual Hispanic Radiothon. The three-day Radiothon took place July 15 -17 under the direction ofnew market manager Jerry Del Core.
The 2010 Radiothon total showed a 19 percent increase over 2009’s Radiothon, which raised$310,000. The participating stations, headquartered in Sacramento, Calif., broadcast to 45 marketsin 22 states and will benefit more than 45 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
Del Core directed the Radiothon efforts, just weeks after joining the stations on June 25. “We madethe decision that this event was high on our priority list,” said Del Core. “It shows our listeners thepower they have to help millions of children that Children’s Miracle Network hospitals treat eachyear. Our stations and listeners understand that this is an important cause and we hope to continueto grow this program each year.”
“During the past three years, Hispanic Radiothons have been a part of our efforts to raise funds forChildren’s Miracle Network hospitals, said Steve Oshin, senior vice president, Radiothon. “Since1997 Children's Miracle Network Radiothons have raised more than $280 million in support of 170children’s hospitals in Canada and the US, but Hispanic Radiothons—with partners like La Gran Dand Latino—have had the greatest growth in recent years.”
Funds raised for the hospitals will help sick and injured children by funding medical care, researchand education that saves and improve lives.
