Making Miracles Happen with Kaitlyn

This year is the 25th Anniversary of the Children's Miracle Network at Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville. My goal is to have 25 amazing people donate $25. Not to mention, my 20th Birthday is approaching quickly, April 5th! I am so blessed to be alive today, and that is because I was treated at a wonderful Children's Miracle Network hospital. My life has been filled with many ups and downs, but through it all I have continued to stay positive. Living with Cystic Fibrosis and Diabetes has been a roller coaster. Oddly enough, As a child I loved staying impatient, I was treated with so much love and care that being in the hospital was like a vacation with extended family (CRAZY RIGHT?). The reason why I remained so comfortable was partly because of Child Life. Having Child Life around provided me with an escape from all the pain, needles, pills,and treatments. They can't do what they do without funds from the Children's Miracle Network. They provide distractions for sick kids, such as play dough, sand art, duct tape, activity books, board games, Beanie Babies, markers, coloring books; the list can go on and on. Without these escapes I would not have the attitude I have today towards the hospital. I want every kid to have the same positive experiences I have had in the hospital. This is why I am perusing a degree in communications with the intention to work for CMN at Geisinger Danville. I am so passionate towards the Children's Miracle Network, I feel like I owe it to Geisinger to help make a difference and continue to make miracles happen for kids today and in the future. Child Life is not the only thing that CMN has helped fund. The Children's Miracle Network has recently helped fund Cardiovascular ultrasound equipment, new ventilators in the neonatal intensive care units, language interpretation equipment, and drug and alcohol education programs in the area. With YOUR help we can change lives!
