Greater Texas FCU Supports Cook Children's

The Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions was unfortunately unable to coordinate the 11th Annual Shake, Wag & Bowl event benefitting the Sit, Stay, PLAY program at Cook Children's due to the pandemic. The Miracle Team was ready to go with lots of fun and new ideas. The Chapter, along with Cook Children's, has come up with a fundraising idea to fill a critical need that is presently facing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) area of the medical center. Something that sets the Cook Children's NICU apart from the other NICUs in the area is the single room layout, allowing parents to stay by baby's side 24/7. Up to this point, single rooms have been a huge asset to families by lessening length of stay and promoting bonding and breastfeeding. However, many of the families are from out of town and at some point, they must return to normal life, other children, and work obligations. Cameras at the crib would be the next level of family centered care that Cook Children's is known for. Cook Children's would like to implement crib cams on every bed in the NICU to provide the entire family access to their infant(s) from wherever they are, no matter how many visitors are permitted at the Medical Center. The Chapter felt that our Credit Unions could help fulfill this critical need!
