From Pancreatic Cancer to Helping Children

"It's a good day to be alive" - Jim Busta

Jim Busta has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He wishes to use this chapter of his life to help others. When he saw children at the hospital undergoing chemo treatments just like him, it pulled on his heartstrings. He knew he wanted to do something to help these children and their families. To support the young patients, Jim has partnered with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals where 100% of the money raised will go to children receiving medical treatment and their families.

Upon making your donation, you will be contacted via email to receive a FREE shirt from Jim Busta. Shirts are purple with white lettering and a small ribbon to represent pancreatic cancer awareness. In large letters, is Jim's daily saying, "It's a good day to be alive."

A little more about Jim Busta: The youngest of nine children and grew up on a farm in northeast Iowa. They celebrated life every day in simple ways. He met Mary Lou (Wenthold) while out polka dancing at a ballroom. They got married in 1971 and had four children. Jim loved music and taught himself to play the concertina. He soon learned that making people smile with music was one of the gifts God gave him. The Jim Busta band began 43 years ago and Jim still loves to make people happy with his music. Jim has always loved children. He worked in the education system until he retired. He made a huge impact on students with his caring ways and positive outlook. His family describes him as - respectful, generous, kind, loving, humble, open-minded, compassionate, joyful, funny, faithful, humble, and a servant to others. His family love all of the stories about their dad because they all have such a happy ending - he has helped so many people and never expects anything in return.

The Busta family are thankful for every prayer said for Jim and his health. He is a wonderful man with many smiles yet to give.

May God bless you and may the words of Jim Busta forever ring in your ears, "It's a good day to be alive."
