CU4Kids Unite for Hope

Throughout June, stop by any Unitus Community Credit Union branch to purchase a paper icon in support of Credit Unions for Kids or make a donation on Unitus' CU4Kids donation page. All proceeds benefit our local Children's Miracle Network hospital, OHSU Doernbecher—the largest pediatric intensive care unit in Oregon delivering hope and healing to families throughout Oregon and SW Washington since 1926.

Our History

Unite for Hope is meaningful to Unitus not only because of our deep involvement with and support of CU4Kids as a community credit union, but because of our special connection to it, as CU4Kids was founded at Unitus over 30 years ago.

What We Hope For

Our CU4Kids Unite for Hope campaign will contribute to Unitus' support of OHSU Doernbecher's Hybrid Operating Room, which will make surgery safer and more efficient for their most vulnerable patients by eliminating the need to transport patients across the hospital during risky surgeries, such as open-heart surgery.

Additionally, the hybrid operating suite will merge two services currently located on opposite sides of Doernbecher and OHSU: the pediatric operating room and the cardiac catheterization lab, where heart diagnostics and treatment are performed. By uniting these services, surgeons and interventional cardiologists can perform multiple or complex procedures together, in one setting, without adding risk and spending precious minutes in transport.

​The comprehensive new suite on the eighth floor of Doernbecher will be essential in caring for patients across the region who are experiencing high-level trauma and the rarest types of disease, providing lasting impact for decades to come.
