Kohki Kitano - For The Kids 2021

My story and why I support the Children's Miracle Network: I graduated from Indiana University and was an active member in the Indiana University Dance Marathon (IUDM) organization during my four years in Bloomington. IUDM is one of the largest student-run philanthropies in the nation and fundraises year-round to support Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. Each year, IUDM holds a 36-hour dance marathon in November to celebrate and to recognize the relentless efforts of all the children who fight their battle against complex illnesses at Riley Hospital. During my involvement with IUDM, I was extremely fortunate to be surrounded by incredible human beings - selfless Hoosiers who gave it their all For the Kids. One of my favorite memories from my involvement was meeting the families that were supported by Riley Hospital. Talking to the families and friends of children fighting their battle instilled in me more motivation to do everything that I can so that every child at Riley has the freedom to step out of their hospital beds to live their lives as kids. I've learned countless life lessons from the children at Riley: the importance of never quitting when things get tough, the power of instilling hope in others, and the importance of prioritizing what's truly important in life - your health, family, and friends. My goal for this page is to devote every challenge I take on between now and December 31st, 2021 to the children that taught me these very important life lessons.
