CHOC's 2025 Local Champion

​Kara’s entrance into the world was immediately faced with challenges, experiencing respiratory distress and a neonatal infection. The neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Hospital) became her first home. Thanks to donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the staff at CHOC was equipped to provide Kara with life-saving care. Inspired by her experience, Kara and her family became dedicated CHOC supporters, participating in fundraising walks and even starting her own initiative, Kara Care Cards. Today, Kara is a thriving 13-year-old, using her artistic talents to give back and inspire others.
