Each year, CHOC treats over 250,000 children and teens. As a safety net hospital, CHOC
is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care, regardless of a family’s
ability to pay. In fact, a majority of our patients come from low-income families who rely
on the state’s limited health insurance. 

In fiscal year 2021, CHOC provided more than $159 million in total community benefit—of this
provision, $149 million is uncompensated care, which aids families without
insurance or who have inadequate coverage.

As these families face numerous difficulties that can impact their children’s health, CHOC’s exceptional services are becoming more and more critical. Children throughout our community are relying on CHOC and
partners like you to help them grow up healthy and happy.
