Meet 2016-17 Mo. Champion, Connor

mo-connor-strope

Connor gets excited about small things that many people take for granted. With a love of hugs and retelling stories, he is a much-loved presence among the nurses and staff at his hospital. Born with osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) and diagnosed with autism, Connor regularly visits his hospital for treatments.

Even though his bones are fragile, Connor has a strong, fighting spirit that helps him connect with his hospital’s most passionate supporters, including listeners of his hospital’s annual Radiothon and the students involved with the hospital’s MizzouThon Dance Marathon. Connor and his family regularly volunteer their time with both activities, working to support the kids treated by his hospital.

There is currently no cure for his conditions, so Connor’s treatments will last indefinitely. With his love of dancing and silly sense of humor, Connor makes the most of each day and brings joy to all those he meets.

How donations helped Connor at MU Children’s Hospital:

CMN Hopsitals donations supported child life services and the pediatric specialty, orthopedic and autism departments where Connor receives most of his care.
