For Mental Health Awareness Month, we are featuring the stories of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals employees. Meet Sana James, Manager of Social Media and Digital Advertising. 

I grew up in a culture that didn’t condone being open about your mental health struggles. It was seen as a weakness.

It took me a while to feel like I could share some of these struggles with my friends. Writing was helpful for me to be open about my struggles with thoughts of suicide and self-worth. Once my book was published and out there, I started a mental health platform on Instagram and TikTok and have enjoyed researching mental health progress in that space where I can connect with others who are having similar experiences.
