Miracle Kid Angelica Wows the Crowd at the 2017 RE/MAX R4 Convention

Members of the revenue, regional, and content marketing teams joined more than 6,000 RE/MAX agents and offices from 54 countries in Las Vegas last week for the company’s annual R4 convention. Among them were many U.S. and Canadian agents who proudly participate in the Miracle Home and Miracle Property programs and helped contribute to more than $10 million raised for CMN Hospitals in 2016.

Nine-year-old Miracle Kid Angelica Hale was there to represent the millions of CMN Hospitals patients RE/MAX supports each year. When Angelica was just four years old, she suffered a case of double pneumonia causing her body to go into sepsis. Thanks to the work of our member hospital Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Angelica is now happy and healthy. During her treatment, she discovered a talent for singing, and now she travels the country using her voice to raise funds and awareness for our cause. Check out Angelica’s Miracle Story here.

Angelica was first introduced to R4 attendees during a performance onstage at the opening general session hosted by Wayne Brady. On the last word of her song, the R4 crowd jumped to their feet for a standing ovation (which continued as a trend throughout her performances). Soon after, Angelica chatted onstage with RE/MAX senior vice president, business alliances and CMN Hospitals board member Mike Reagan, as she shared her inspiring story and graciously thanked agents for their support of CMN Hospitals. To close out the show, Mike had a surprise for Angelica – a visit from 2017 Miss America, Savvy Shields!

Throughout the remainder of the week, agents had multiple opportunities to interact with CMN Hospitals staff, Angelica and Miss America, to make donations and to learn more about supporting CMN Hospitals. Attendees could snap a photo with a replica of the original 1960s-era Batmobile for a small donation. Golfers purchased mulligans for donations at the Tee it Up for Kids! Golf Tournament. Top RE/MAX donors were honored at a special breakfast with RE/MAX co-founder Gail Liniger, where she was recognized for 25 years of partnership with CMN Hospitals. Dillard’s featured Angelica in a spring fashion show and donated a percentage of clothing sales to CMN Hospitals. And a live auction that featured once-in-a-lifetime trips and experiences, also took place, raising more than $100,000 toward this year’s fundraising goal.

It goes without saying: R4 was an ideal way to kick off the 25th year of partnership with RE/MAX and CMN Hospitals. And thank you again to Julie Breckenkamp, Jay Shapansky, Marlee Serrano, Adam Denison, Natalie Reich, Becky Ruley and Wesley Shaw!
