RE/MAX #MonthofMiracles: Climbing to Make Miracles Happen

Miracle Agent Scott MacDonald of Virginia and a group of his RE/MAX colleagues and friends from the D.C. area, Florida and the Cayman Islands, are spending this year’s RE/MAX Month of Miracles in training. Yes, training. They’re getting warmed up for a four-day trek next month through the Andes Mountains, where they’ll raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on their hike to one of the seven wonders of the world, Machu Picchu.

It will be the second fundraising climb for most of the group (they’ve welcomed a few newcomers this year). Last year, they braved Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, raising $35,000 for CMN Hospitals. This year’s goal: $50,000.

“We do it because we want to be part of something bigger than ourselves,” MacDonald says. “The climbs themselves and the hikes we do to get ready are a great way to build camaraderie. And we feel good knowing that we’re helping families who want their kids to have the best care but might not be able to afford it.”
