Rob Steigerwald, COO, The Americas – West Region, Marriott International, set to retire
After 37 years of helping to grow and shape Marriott International, Rob Steigerwald, Chief Operations Officer, The Americas – West Region, will retire effective December 21, 2018.
Rob represents the Marriott company culture at its core. Beginning his career in 1981 as a Restaurant Manager at the Crystal City Marriott, he continued to progress, and he held several GM roles where as GM of Harbor Beach Marriott Resort he was named GM of the Year for the entire company.
In his latest role as Chief Operations Officer, Rob has overseen the operations of hotels in 27 states and in French Polynesia. Previously, he was Chief Operations Officer, The Americas – Southern Region, responsible for all Marriott brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, in seven southern states and 25 countries in the Caribbean and Central and South America.
Rob has received the American Hospitality & Lodging Association’s Most Valuable Volunteer Award and has served on the Executive Committee of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau as well as chaired the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association.
