Industry Thought Leader Highlight: Lou Adducci & Mike Kinney

Throughout the year, look forward to seeing Industry Thought Leader Highlights, blog posts focused on celebrating members of the revenue team who are elevating CMN Hospitals as a leading organization within the industry by speaking at conferences and webinars.

Recently, both Lou Adducci, Director (Community), Extra Life & Mike Kinney, Managing Director, Digital Fundraising & Extra Life, were recognized for their positive contributions to livestreaming through their achievements with Extra Life.

Earlier this month, Lou attended PAX West, a four-day conference dedicated to supporting and celebrating video and tabletop gaming. He submitted a panel, that he served on, containing six leaders within the field. Lou educated attendees on why gaming is a significant platform for charities, as well as how to get involved in Extra Life and livestreaming for a cause.

Additionally, Lou hosted a panel, “Extra Life: How to Play Games & Save Lives,” at Gen Con 2019. This conference brings together thousands of tabletop gamers over a three-day span. During the panel, Lou led a discussion with four others, focused on how to utilize Extra Life in an effort to create community. The attendees left this panel with a greater understanding of how funds can benefit local children’s hospitals, as well as how to incorporate Extra Life in corporate employee engagement.

Mike Kinney was a guest speaker on The NonProfit Voice Podcast, “Episode 3: Livestreaming for Social Good,” hosted by NonProfit PRO. The NonProfit Voice is known as the source for nonprofit management strategy and tactics. Recognized as a leader within the industry, Mike discussed how livestreaming is changing the way participants fundraise in the peer-to-peer space for causes they care about. Mike was joined by Marc Rubner, CEO of DonorDrive, where they both were able to explore creative ways to incorporate livestreaming into other fundraising initiatives.

Livestreaming is a “new” channel that is here to stay. Through Extra Life’s success, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is leading the way with this initiative.

Thank you, Mike and Lou, for elevating the impact of Extra Life nationwide.
