Miracle Kid Maverick has been a Red Sox fan since before he could walk. Earlier this year, his favorite player, David Ortiz (Big Papi) said he’d hit a home run in his honor — and he kept his promise. Maverick got to go on the trip of a lifetime to meet his hero and see Fenway Park.

Maverick has been battling a congenital heart defect and is due for another open heart surgery in the near future at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
