A Champion Forever: Drew Wall

We at CMN Hospitals can't imagine a better Champion ambassador than this year's Drew Wall, who passed away on Monday, November 26. Drew was a shining example of how to apply one's talents and focus to thrive and inspire others while facing a serious health challenge — a 5-year battle with bone cancer. Drew was an excellent student, skilled debater, accomplished pianist and avid golfer. He helped improve the lives of many Iowans by succesfully lobbying for prosthetic limb coverage for fellow amputees.

Just two months ago, Drew was spreading the word in Washington, D.C. and Florida about the need for funding for his University of Iowa Children's Hospital and all CMN Hospitals. And he did so with poise, strength and — as you'll note in the photos below — an element of surprise.

We'll all miss Drew, but won't forget what he stood for and all he was able to accomplish in his short life. To read more about Drew's incredible journey, visit his CaringBridge page.
