Giant raises more than $3 million for CMN Hospitals in 2017

When Zannah was just two weeks old, she fell limp in her father’s arms. She was rushed to the hospital where a heart defect and rare bacterial infection were discovered. Zannah was placed on a life-support machine that took over the function of her lungs and heart (and ultimately saved her life).

If not for the funds raised by generous Giant/Martin’s customers over the past 21 years, Zannah’s hospital might not have had the life-saving equipment needed to help her live a full and happy life she deserves.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that during 2017, Giant/Martin’s stores throughout West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland and their customers raised more than $3 million to help sick and injured kids like Zannah in seven Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Approximately 170 stores sold balloon and candle icons during two different campaigns throughout the year that included coupons good for discounts on various Nabisco products. The $1 Miracle Balloons even featured the story of a child treated at each member hospital.

“Together with Giant/Martin’s customers, Giant/Martin’s collected more than $3 million to support seven of our children’s hospitals,” explains John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Thank you to everyone who made a difference in the life of a sick child in 2017.”

As a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1997, Giant has raised more than $42 million to buy special equipment to treat the youngest of patients, build new treatment facilities, ease anxiety and pain and conduct ground-breaking research.
