GLADES MEDIA GROUP WINS HISPANIC RADIO STATION OF THE YEAR

Driving five hours to the children’s hospital, talking with the patients, and grasping the perspective of the hospital administrators are all steps taken by a local Florida station to make their Radiothon the most authentic it can be.

We are pleased to announce 99.5 La Ley, as part of the Glades Media Group, winner of the 2017 Hispanic Radio Station of the Year. The Hispanic Radio Station of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding Hispanic speaking radio station that has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital or Foundation.

In the Gainesville-Daytona area, 99.5 La Ley puts on a two-day Radiothon to raise money for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. Being a unique station and the only with their music format in the West Palm Beach area, 99.5 La Ley works hard to become one with the children’s hospital.

As they go to the hospital and gather stories and footage, this radio station brings it back to the Radiothon to allow listeners to feel like they are right with the patients. This creates an authentic experience for the listeners, who are inspired to donate. 99.5 La Ley reads the names of all their donors throughout the Radiothon, creating a community among them.

99.5 Le Lay invested in a streaming app to reach more viewers from across the state of Florida and across the country. They are truly committed to spreading the message of their local children’s hospital. This is one of the many ways that there was a 70 percent increase in total funds from the 2015 to 2016 Radiothon.

Congratulations for 99.5 La Ley and Glades Media Group!
