Montel Makes a Visit

Last week we had a crew in the Bronx to visit with patients at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore, one of our 170 hospitals. We spent the day in the oncology and hematology unit with some of the sickest kids in the hospital (and parents who should clearly be sainted).

Montel Williams joined us for a portion of the day as we filmed a segment for the upcoming Daytime Emmys (coming to CBS on June 19). He was AMAZING with the kids – and we're not just saying that. He interviewed a girl with sickle cell anemia and a boy anxiously hoping for a kidney transplant. He made their parents feel completely comfortable on camera. And he colored pictures for each of the patients in the playroom.

Our favorite part of the day? When Montel chased down a patient to ask her to autograph the picture she drew for him.
