Celebrating the Power of Radio: #NationalRadioDay is August 20

Join Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in celebrating #NationalRadioDay, Sunday, August 20.

On #NationalRadioDay, we celebrate the power of live and local radio. As radio continues to be the number one reach medium, we are proud to partner with over 350 partner radio stations across the U.S. Our partners have shared the stories of local children and the services of CMN Hospitals, raising more than $37 million annually through Radiothon.

“Over the years, our media partners have not only evolved in terms of being able to raise money, but also to help bring awareness to the fact that children’s hospitals need financial support. We’re able to tell that story through media’s most powerful tool – radio. This industry has the ability for storytelling; it’s a great medium, in terms of reach and format to tell at these amazing stories of kids in their communities and how the funds we raise help them, ” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in a recent interview with All Access.

Radiothons are multi-hour events, broadcast live, usually from the local CMN Hospital. Station hosts do what they do best – engage listeners with compelling content and signature storytelling montages – and ask the community to support their local kids. The power of local radio is stronger than ever, and our radio partners are the superheroes of the air for local kids.

Over 13 of our radio partners have been inducted into the Miracle Million Club, raising over $1 million annually. These outlets include, Cumulus, CBS Radio, Entercom Communications, iHeart Media, Entravision, Hubbard Radio, Bonneville, Cox Media, KALC-FM/Alice Denver, WWMX-FM Baltimore, WTMX-Chicago, WKLH-FM, and KTAR/Arizona Sports.

Every dollar from Radiothon stays local to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in the community. Find out more about our Radiothon program and how you can help local kids.
