Donations On The Rise In Phoenix

Phoenix radio stations KTAR and Arizona Sports teamed with Phoenix Children’s Hospital to raise an incredible $1,662,830!

The 19-hour radio simulcast raised a record amount thanks to the generosity of the Bonneville Phoenix stations’ listeners and sponsors, including Valley Hyundai Dealers, Wells Fargo, Carl’s Junior, Taylor Morrison, Interstate Batteries, The UPS Store, ACE Hardware, Trane, Papa John’s and Just Sports.  In addition to those donations, five-year old Mia made her contribution in person.

“Wow, to think that Give-A-Thon is once again the largest children’s hospital radiothon fundraiser in the United States is mind-boggling,” said Steve Schnall, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation. “But then we’ve always known that this community is capable of doing extraordinary things to support our kids.”

“It never ceases to amaze us how our audiences respond to Give-A-Thon, and this year was no different as it continues to be the top children’s hospital radiothon fundraiser in the country,” said Scott Sutherland, Vice President and Market Manager of Bonneville Phoenix, which operates KTAR News, Arizona Sports and ESPN Phoenix. “And we’re so grateful for the support of our amazing Give-A-Thon sponsors, all of whom embrace the PCH mission and inspire their employees, customers and business partners to also contribute to the campaign.”

The theme of the event, Champions of Hope, was the top trending hashtag on Twitter for more than 18 hours.  Read more about Give-A-Thon at KTAR.com.
