Austin and Waco-Temple-Bryan Team Up for Joint Walmart Kickoff

For their 2017 Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign kickoff, the Austin market and the Waco-Temple-Bryan market teamed up to get the associates excited about the campaign. Todd Manley, the regional at the time, gathered everyone outside of the hospital to take a group photo with a drone!

Approximately 200 associates partook in the famous Walmart cheer in font of Dell Children’s.

The Walmart & Sam’s Club associates filled out forms about why they fundraise and what inspires them, and then they shared their responses with the entire group. The hospital uses those responses as continued motivation in campaign emails to the locations.

The associates also met a local patient named Ethan, a four year old boy who had been through two heart surgeries at Dell Children’s and will have to have a third in the future. Ethan’s parents, Megan and Rodney Jeter, spoke at the kickoff to share their story. Rodney works for a Cedar Park Walmart and the story hit close to home for all of the associates, knowing it was in the Walmart family.  Rodney is the CMN Champion for his store this year and they are currently #2 out of 31 locations benefiting Dell Children’s.
