Make Miracles this May

036

In May of 2004, I experienced my first miracle at a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. My son had been born two months earlier and had failed his hearing tests. As someone who was classically trained in both piano and vocal performance, I was heartbroken that my son was born deaf. He couldn't hear me sing him to sleep at night. He didn't respond to doors slamming or vacuums running. I was a brand new mother overwhelmed by the thought of learning sign language.

But fortunately, there was a Children's Miracle Network Hospital nearby. We were referred to an incredible ENT who, through a series of surgeries beginning in May 2004, completely restored my son's hearing. Jack, now 7, is taking piano lessons and loves to dance.

So for me, May will always be for Miracles.

My son can hear thanks to a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. That's more than enough reason for me to say "yes" when asked to donate $1 at a Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, Rite Aid, Food Lion, Publix, Golden Corral, White House|Black Market or other fundraising partner. Because all those dollars are going to add up to millions of dollars, and millions of miracles for mothers who are desperately looking for one.

It's easier than ever to give to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals this month. And please give, because you never know when you'll need one. Learn more here.
