Take the Lead: “Kids Can’t Wait” Resonates Now More than Ever

Take the Lead is a new blog series from Teri Nestel, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In this leadership-focused series, Teri will share her insights and leadership lessons alike.

Kids Can’t Wait is a phrase often heard throughout our network of hospitals, partners, programs and staff. It affirms the need for giving and is used across our communication channels, marketing materials and beyond. And today, it seems to resonate now more than ever.

The past 20 months have reminded us that as a society, we’re deeply connected. And our success is based on the ability to lean on each other in times of need.

When is there a greater need? We’ve seen the recent stories about emergency departments and intensive care units stretched past their limits with fewer medical staff to care for the sickest patients. On top of treating kids with COVID-19, children’s hospitals continue to care for everything from broken bones to cancer, and all the moments in between.

Kids Can’t Wait.

When each of us does what we can to keep kids safe and spirits unbroken; together, we can change kids’ health and change the future.

For all of us.
