As the lead story in Forbes June, “Self Made” issue, Carolyn Rafaelian has earned an 8-page editorial spread dedicated to her incredible journey and mission. It includes a family history of more than 50 years in the jewelry manufacturing industry that led her where she is today, starting with her grandfather passing through Ellis Island in search of life and promise. In Rhode Island — the Jewelry Capital of the World — her father founded his own jewelry company and paved the way for his daughter and ALEX AND ANI. Carolyn’s life is rooted in tradition, and the desire to set an example of humanitarianism for the next generation — including her own daughters.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is grateful for the continued support of the Charity by Design initiative from ALEX AND ANI.  Through the creation of the Unicorn bangle designed especially for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, ALEX AND ANI has raised over $519,000 to benefit local CMN Hospitals.

 The bangle focuses on the magic and healing associated with the mystical unicorn, and the importance of magic and healing for hospitalized kids.

 ALEX AND ANI have partnered with CMN Hospitals since 2015. Donations stay local to benefit one of the 170 member CMN Hospitals in local communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
