Tiny Lives, Big Chance: Jack, Barrett, and the Power of Hope
This May, Costco and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) are joining forces to raise critical funds for courageous kids like Jack and Barrett. These incredible boys, born at just 24 weeks, faced a fight for survival from their very first breaths.
Their parents, Amy and Jayna, dreamt of a bustling house filled with laughter. However, their journey took a heart-wrenching turn when, at 20 weeks pregnant, Amy required emergency surgery. The next few months were a blur of worry and hope. One tiny brother, Leighton, sadly passed, leaving Amy and Jayna heartbroken yet fiercely determined to stay strong for Jack and Barrett.
The NICU Journey:
Jack and Barrett spent countless days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Jack underwent emergency surgery, requiring travel assistance to reach the best specialists. Meanwhile, Barrett needed a life-saving heart procedure. Throughout this ordeal, their children’s hospital’s travel assistance program ensured Amy and Jayna could be present for their sons, even when physically separated. NICU cameras allowed them to see Jack and Barrett when they couldn’t be there in person.
